Elo boosting in LoL and bans: the real risks, without sugar-coating
A solo boost can cost you an account. We would rather tell you before you pay. Here is what the rules say, how Riot can detect a boost, and what is up to you.

What Riot's rules say
Riot Games' terms of service forbid account sharing. A solo boost, where another player logs into your account to play your ranked games, breaks that rule. It is not a grey area: it is written, and our terms of sale repeat it before any payment.
Sanctions exist and vary, from losing season rewards to the account being closed, through a rank reset or a suspension. We will give you neither a percentage nor a timeframe: nobody serious knows them, and those who display them make them up.
How Riot can detect a boost
Riot does not publish its methods, and we will not pretend to know them. Two signals are obvious to anyone. A level of play that changes abruptly: an account that was losing in Silver and suddenly chains clean wins, with other champions and other reflexes. And a login from another place, another device, at hours that are not yours.
There are also reports. Opponents, and sometimes teammates, notice a player too strong for his rank, and a report can trigger a review. No recipe makes these signals disappear. All we can do is not make them worse.
What we do to limit exposure
Your booster plays in offline mode, so your activity does not show up for your friends. He does not play through a suspicious VPN, and he does not chase an absurd win rate. Two options on the grid go the same way: "Solo queue only", to leave your flex queue untouched, and "Pick champions and roles", so the games look like what you usually play.
None of this is a protection. These are precautions, which reduce exposure without removing it. If someone presents these same precautions as a promise of peace of mind, they are lying to you.
- Offline mode for the whole order.
- No suspicious VPN, no absurd win rate.
- "Solo queue only" and "Pick champions and roles" options, if you tick them.
The only option without account sharing: duo
In duo, nobody logs into your account. You play your ranked games yourself, and a Master player plays on your team, in the duo queue the game offers. No credentials asked, no unusual login, no abrupt change in level: you are the one playing, with a better teammate.
It is slower than a solo boost, because it depends on your time slots and your own play, and we promise no rank. But if the ban question keeps you up at night, this is the answer. Riot limits the rank gap between the two players of a duo, and the exact rule is shown in the client.
What is yours to decide
We will not decide for you. A solo boost is faster, and it exposes your account. A duo is slower, and your account stays yours. Between the two, there is what your account means to you: years of skins and memories, or a secondary account whose loss would cost you nothing.
Read our terms of sale before paying. They say what happens if your order has not started within 72 hours of payment, and they spell out the risk of sanction. If after that you choose the solo boost, you do so knowingly. That is all we ask.
Your credentials
For a solo boost, the booster needs to log into your account. Your credentials are asked after payment, from your order page, never before. They are encrypted before storage, decrypted only when your booster reads them, and erased once the order ends.
Our privacy policy describes this processing in detail. Change your password once the order is over, as a matter of principle. In duo, the question does not arise: no credentials are asked.
Questions
Can my account get banned because of an elo boost?
Yes, it is possible. Solo boosting goes against Riot's rules and a boosted account can be sanctioned. We reduce exposure without removing it, and our terms of sale say so.
Does this risk apply to duo?
In duo, nobody logs into your account: you play your games yourself in a queue the game offers. Account sharing, which is what Riot forbids, does not take place.
If boosting can be detected, why sell it?
Because players ask for it knowing the risk, and we would rather say it clearly than hide it. The choice is yours, and duo exists for those who do not want to take that risk.
